how do you find vsynth-related downloadables in this current day and age?! a kinda tutorial
It's pretty much gotten weird looking for these nowadays. Say you wanna look for something to make your voicebank sing, especially an obscure song. Like you're using something like UTAU or OpenUTAU and you need a UST/USTx, and you have to hunt it down on YouTube. The problem is sometimes that YouTube doesn't show "everything" in the search results, especially if you're looking for a non-English song. And then when you want to look for MMD accessories and stuff, DeviantArt has become a cesspool of features no one asked for, broken links to downloads and with the threat of DeviantArt possibly failing to remain for longer, yeah... it's tough out there.
But I'm here to at least offer some of the tips and tricks I've figured out after a while of hunting down sequence files, models, etc. through the current Internet. I hope my findings prove to be of some use to you somehow! This also applies to non-vsynth things, especially MMD as it has a variety of media/fandoms that have a ton of models and stuff.

Refer to my tutorial on how to bypass Nicovideo's regionlock here. If the song you're looking for has a non-romanized name, try to use that in the search queries instead of the romanized name. 98% of the time you'll have better luck that way! The same goes for looking for models.
Need an account to download: in red, no account needed: in yellow
For sequence files
Nicovideo - The main source for a lot of these, from Japanese and overseas creators. You can use the search function to look for what you need, and for most Japanese songs, you'd have better luck here. May need the UserAgent bypass to access the site if you're not in Japan, but personally I can open it just fine. Doesn't need an account to access a majority of videos containing downloads
vsqx.top - A Chinese site that primarily focuses on, well, it says in the name, but also USTs, MIDIs and even plugins and guides! You can mostly get around with Google Translate, and they have stuff there not even NND have. If you want to look for Chinese songs, you can check here. Needs an account to download anything
VOCALOADER - Still pretty new, but similar to the above site but in English! Most English creators put their sequences here, especially for English songs. Doesn't need an account to access a majority of videos containing downloads
BowlRoll - A Japanese download hosting site for not only sequences, but also models! May need to maneuver around using a translator. Doesn't need an account to access a majority of the files, but some files will require it, especially most password-protected files
And then for the VERY obscure ones, please visit these links with caution. They're pretty old and some links may not work as intended anymore, but they still contain some working downloads as of this date. Some download hosts are potentially defunct and now lead to scam links so make sure to test them using tools like VirusTotal first before clicking on them.
- UST VSQ request thread - This Utaforum thread has a very long list of places to get USTs and even VSQx and MIDI from! Doesn't need an account to access a majority of videos containing downloads
- Vocalochu's list of VSQ/USTs - Very old Blogspot list, a majority of downloads no longer work but you can test your luck here. Doesn't need an account to access a majority of links, since most of them are hosted in sites like Mediafire, etc.
For MMD models/stages/accessories/etc.
- Nicoseiga - REQUIRES USERAGENT BYPASS IF NOT IN JAPAN Basically NND's own version of Pixiv in a way, but keep in mind they also host NSFW content so you may need to avoid those . You can check for model downloads here in the MikuMikuDance or MMD tags, but for some precision, you can use these tags/search queries: Needs a Nicovideo account to download anything
- MMDモデル配布あり - I believe translates to "MMD model download available".
- MMDアクセサリ配布あり- MMD accessories are available for download".
Niconi Solid - Another site by NND that specifically has MMD models and such, and also other 3D formats! I can access this site fine, but some might also need the bypass. Needs a Nicovideo account to download anything
AplayBox/ModelHouse - I recently discovered this, but it's a Chinese equivalent of Nicoseiga/Niconi Solid(?). They also offer other 3D formats, and articles. Needs an account to download anything, plus follow rules of the creator of a file first
piapro - Believe it or not... piapro also has MMD model downloads here. I got a neat model of Miku if from it, so make sure to check the "3D model" tab in the front page. Needs an account to download anything
